Membership Figures
To get a reliable idea of the number of adherents of Ahmadiyyat, the following sources were consulted:
- [Ahmadiyya Muslim Commmunity (official site)](http:// islam.alislam.org/Introduction/index.html), hereafter called source 1, which is the official site of the Qadiani Ahmadiyya Jamaat.
- Adhrerents.com, section Ahmadiyya Adherents.com is an “independent” source. This is an Internet initiative and is not affiliated with any religious, political, educational, or commercial organization. Its index page says it is the 2nd most frequently visited general religion site on the Internet, hereafter called source 2

Analysis of Numbers
Assumption:
The families have 2 or more children. That means that without any new converts, there is a natural status quo (2 children) or expansion (>2 children) of the Movement.
Analysis of data-series
The above data-series speaks for itself: de membership number has been stable at 10 million for the past 7 years ! What does that mean?:
- ?-1993
No earlier figures are available. In 1993, we have a figure of 10 million adherents in 117 countries.
- 1996-1997
Ahmadiyya gained 3 million new members between August 1996 and July 1997.
- However, between 1995 and 1997 the total membership number remains 10 million. When you have 3 million new members coming in, and the total size remains the same, effectively this comes down to a drain or loss of 3 million members.
- Moreover, between 1993 and 1997 the number of countries increased from 117 to 143, that is 26 countries. The number of new converts in 26 extra countries along with the number of new converts in the 117 countries where Ahmadiyya was expanding its activities, appears to be just enough to counterbalance the loss of members, considering how the total membership remains at 10 million?!?
- 1997-1998
In July 1998, Mirza Tahir says:
“During my 16 years of Khilafat, unlimited and uncountable blessings have descended from God. Only in one year 3,000,000 converts to Ahmadiyyat is such a blessing that even the most affluent nations cannot dream of it.” (Statement of Mirza Tahir dated 10th June 1998, mentioned in AlFazl International, 26th June - 2nd July 1998 p.4)
AGAIN they have 3 million new converts while the total number remains at 10 million so that by consequence AGAIN they must have lost 3 million members !! What are they doing that makes their members leave in such numbers?
Also Notice how there is an increase from 143 to 152 countries, that is 9 more countries, yet again, the total membership number remains at 10 million ! So again these figures lead one to conclude that there is a loss of members barely being made up by the number of new converts.
- 1998-2000
Two more countries added, still the same number of adherents!
Mirza Tahir said in 1998:
“The age that has come now, by the Grace of God, Jamaat has far exceeded from 10,000,000 and those days are coming when every year 10s of millions would enter the Jamaat.” (Statement of Mirza Tahir dated 10th June 1998, mentioned in AlFazl International, 26th June - 2nd July 1998 p.6).
At the rate of the above implied loss of members, that indeed will be required to keep a status-quo !!!
Conclusion
According to independent sources in combination with the information of the official Ahmadiyya website, the Ahmadiyya membership numbers have remained status quo for the past 7 (SEVEN) years. Considering the announcement of millions of new members per year, this can only mean that millions of existing members must be leaving the Jamaat. Further reading:
