**Mirza Ghulam and Jesus(AS)

Who was in India ?**

- by Farooq -

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, at one point in his life, started claiming to be Jesus(AS) son of Mary, who had been promised in the traditions of Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW). However, it was an uphill task for him to prove this claim. In his desperation, he made him survive the crucifixion (thus denying the established Islamic doctrine of Jesus (AS) being elevated to Heavens with his earthly body), made him flee from Palestine to Kashmir. Here according to Mirza Ghulam, Jesus (AS) died at the age of 120. Now that he had killed Jesus (AS)and buried him in Kashmir in the grave of a certain Aazyusuf, he thought the way was clear to assume the role and title of Promised Messiah.

“I swear upon that God, who has sent me and fabricating on Him is the work of accursed one, He has sent me as Promised Massiah.”

(Majmoo’a-e-Ishtiharaat vol 3 p.435)

He claimed that since he has the same qualities as Jesus (AS), he has been chosen to be the Promised Messiah. Paradoxically, he also vehemently debased Jesus(AS) . Ahmadiyya made up an excuse for this, and explained how Mirza was not defaming the real Jesus (AS) of the Quran, but the fictuous Jesus (AS) the Christians had created in the Bible (which according to Mirza Ghulam was a useless collection of books and a shame to own). Ahmadiyya pointed out that Mirza Ghulam had nothing to do with this fictuous character whom he debased so much. Defaming a fictuous character whom he did not resemble at all? When you look into the matter, it becomes clear how Mirza Ghulam projects his own unwanted, resented behaviour onto Jesus (AS) and then blames Jesus (AS) for it. I explored this mechanism in great detail in “Mirza Ghulam and Jesus (AS): a man in the mirror” [ 1 ], from which I quote some examples here. Mirza Ghulam for instance accuses Jesus (AS) of - GOD FORBID - being a womanizing drunk, while Mirza Ghulam drank tonic wine himself and was massaged late at night by unrelated women. Or he belittles the prophecies of Jesus (AS) and wonders how “the stupid Israelites” could have been so dumb as to take an earthquake for a prophecy, while Mirza himself makes a lot fuss about his own prophecies of earthquakes. He accuses Jesus (AS) of using abusive language, while Mirza Ghulam himself uses very rough language and calls others imbeciles, dry-brained pundits, etc. He acuses Jesus (AS) of calling the elders names, yet Mirza himself says “There is nothing more foul than a pig in the world. But the ulema who oppose me are more foul than pigs.” (Anjam-i-Atham, P. 21) . He says Jesus (AS) did not live up to his own moral teachings, while Mirza Ghulam teaches not to curse, and then curses a thousand times.

In short, everything about himself that does not fit into the “image” of a righteous prophet, Mirza Ghulam refuses to acknowledge in himself. Instead, he projects this onto Jesus (AS) and blames him for it - this is a mechanism well known in psychology.

In summary so far:

  • Mirza Ghulam, born in 1839-1840, lived in India- Mirza Ghulam claimed to be Jesus (AS)- and projected a lot of his own undesirable behaviour onto Jesus (AS) and then blamed Jesus (AS) for it

In 1982 Mr. Illias Suttar wrote an article: “Can Ahmadis Answer” [ 2 ] and made the following observations:

  1. In the book “Jesus in India” Mirza Sahib proved that Hazrat Isa died in 120 AD.- According to Mirza Sahib, Hazrat Isa at the age of 33 was put on the Cross after which he fled Palestine for good. HE SECRETLY MIGRATED TO INDIA and remained alive for 87 more years and died at the age of 120 in Srinagar, Kashmir. He kept no contact with the people of Palestine for these 87 years.- He was not made God or son of God during his life time.- Paul died in 64 or 65 A.D. where as Hazrat Isa died in 120 A.D. Therefore Paul died at least 55 years before Hazrat Isa.- Since Paul must have given the doctrine of Trinity during his life time, this means that Hazrat Isa was made God at least 55 years before His own death

The gist of the article of Mr. Illias Suttar is that this is a complete contradiction: Mirza Ghulam claims Jesus (AS) was not made God during his life. He however also claims it was Paul who made him God. But Paul died before Jesus (AS) did. So Paul must have declared him God before Jesus (AS) died.

Let us analyse part of this information.

The above states that Jesus (AS) died when he was 120 years old. Of this long life, he spent about 33 years in Palestine, and 87 years in India. At least 55 years before his death there, in India, Paul appointed him to be son of God. How long had Jesus (as) been in India then? 87 minus 55 is 32 years old. In other words: Paul appointed Jesus (as) to God when Jesus (AS) has been in India for 32 years.

Of interest to me is the question: what is the meaning of this contradiction?

Why did Mirza Ghulam need to introduce a theory in which Paul by logical deduction declared Jesus (AS) to be son of God, when he was 32 years in India?

Considering how it was established here above that Mirza Ghulam projects his own unwanted attributes onto Jesus(AS), it is interesting to check what happened when Mirza Ghulam had been 32 years in India? In other words, what happened when he was 32 years old? He was born in 1839-1840, that makes he was 32 years old in the year 1871 A.D.

It is an intrigueing question, is it not? In “Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, his life at a glance”, by Dr. Rashid [ 3 ] you can find the answer to that question…

It says:

1870

Report of Parliamentary Commission ‘The Arrival of British Empire in India’ submitted to the British Parliament. Report recommended creating an Apostolic Prophet to subdue the Spirit of Jihad in Muslims.

1871

Mirza Ghulam selected for the ‘post’ of Apostolic Prophet ”

Dear reader, remember how Mirza had a habit of projecting everything he rejected about his own behaviour, all inconsistencies in his own claim, all “faults” in his image, onto Jesus (AS) and then blamed Jesus (AS) for it.

Then please consider the following:

Jesus (AS)

appointed

by Paul

to Divine Office

when 32 in India

Mirza

appointed

by British

to Divine Office

Who was in India !!???

Is it still possible to believe Mirza Ghulam’s “myth” that Jesus (AS) survived his crucifixion and went to India?? Or was it a case similar to all other projections where he blamed his own alcohol consumption, his own relations with unrelated women etc. on Jesus (AS)? Wasn’t he simply projecting his own CLAIM and APPOINTMENT by the British on Jesus (AS) again???!!

Further evidence of this projection mechanism of Mirza-in-India instead of Jesus(AS)-in-India (!!) :

  1. So called revelation of his age fits in perfectly with this projected Myth of MIRZA in India:

In Mirza’s Myth, he made Jesus (AS) live 87 years in India.

Mirza thought he WAS Jesus (AS). By consequence one can expect that he’d think he himself would live to reach the age of about 87 years.

“Enemies wish for my death and prophecise about it. God has, however, given me the good news that I shall live for eighty (80) years or more.”

    (Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 19, P. 239; Mawahib-ur-Rahman, P. 21)

The “Mythical” Jesus (AS) lives a life of 120 years: the 33 years of the real Jesus(AS) + the 87 years of Mirza’s life indeed add up to “Myth” he produces by adding his own life to the already existing life of the real Jesus(AS): 120 in total. The real Jesus (AS) never went to India. The 87 years Mirza added to it to produce this Myth, simply was how long he himself expected to live. Mirza is clearly talking about his delusion of himself in India all the time and of his projected life expectancy (80+)!

    • Mirza Ghulam defames Jesus (AS) by stating that Jesus (AS)claimed to be God.

      1. This simply is another projection of Mirza’s OWN CLAIM to divine office which he could not accept as it was inviolation of his “righteous image” so he rejected it and projected it onto Jesus (As)again, accusing Jesus (AS) of making a claim to divine office.

        Mirza Ghulam defames Jesus(AS)

        Mirza Ghulam about himself

(about Jesus, AS)“Now, it will be noted that here is a man who claims to be God

        (Chashma-i-Masihi, P. 32)

(about Jesus, AS) “Therefore to claim divinity is one of the bad after effects of alcoholism.”

(Satt Bachan, Roohani Khazain vol 10 p 296)

“Give up all mention of the son of Mary, because Ghulam Ahmad is superior to him.”

        (Dafi-ul-Bala, Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 18, P. 240; Dafi-ul-Bala, P. 30)

“GOD STANDS WHERE YOU (MIRZA GHULAM) STANDS (Al-Bushra, Vol 2, Page 24)

“I saw that I was God, and believed that I was He, and in that condition I was saying, ‘We intend to create a new system and a new heaven and earth.’ Then, I said ‘We decorated the Lower heaven with Lights; and added, We shall create men out of the extract of earth’.” (Kitab-ul-Bariya, Page 78; Aina-i-Kamalat, Page 564)

“You are from me and I am from you: your appearance is my appearance.” (Tadhkira, Page 650, 700)

“Such is your command: that when you intend a things, you say ‘Be’ and it exists.” (Haqiqatul Wahi, Page 105; Tadhkira, Page 525, 656, 826)

“I am given the power to cause death and to give life from the Lord, the all-Powerful.” (Khutba Ilhamia, Page 55-56)

“You are unto me as my Oneness and my Soleness.”(Anjam-e-Atham, Page 51; Tadhkira, Page 66, 304)

        • Please also consider that whereas Mirza Ghulam in the above says that Jesus (As) himself claimed divinity, this is in sharp contradiction with Mirza Ghulam’s other theory that it was PAUL who made Jesus (AS) son of God!!

“Jesus did not teach the doctrine of Trinity. As long as he lived, he taught the doctrine of Oneness of God Who had no partners with him. (…)but Paul made him into God.”

          (Chashma-i-Masihi, P. 32)

CONCLUSION:

  1. There are at least two contradictions about this Myth of Jesus(AS) in India:

    1. A first one pointed out by Mr. Illias Suttar, who exposed that Mirza Ghulam on the one hand said Jesus (AS) was declared God AFTER his life, whereas Paul - who allegedly made him son of God, died before the alleged lifespan of 120 years of Jesus (AS) had come to an end.

      • A second one where Mirza on the one hand says that it is Jesus (AS) who claimed divinity, while on the other hand he claims it is Paul who made him son of God. This probably is a good time to remind ourselves of the following self-observation of Mirza Ghulam:

“Intelligent and honest person’s writings never contains contradictions. If someone is mentally sick or insane or such a hypocrite that he is always flattering by his yesmanship, his writings will no doubt become contradictory.”

(Mirza Ghulam in Sat Bachan, Roohani Khazain vol 10 p.142)

    • Mirza Ghulam’s theory of Paul who appointed Jesus(AS) to divine after having been 32 years in India (he would have been about 65 years old then) is a prefect projection of his own appointment at the age of 32. The difference being that Mirza Ghulam later on did make public claims about this, and then attributed those to Jesus (AS) too where he says - in contradiction with his own theory of Paul - that it was Jesus (AS) who claimed divinity.

      • It is obvious that Mirza Ghulam projected everything he rejected in his own person onto Jesus (AS). He accuses Jesus (AS) of being an alcoholic while he drinks. He accuses Jesus (AS) of having an inclination for prostitues while he has late night massages by unrelated women and there is even mentioning of cases of adultry. He accuses Jesus (AS) of calling others “children of prostitutes” while he calls everybody who does not accept him as bastard and offspring of harlots. He accuses Jesus (AS) of a great many things, and projects a great part of himself onto Jesus(AS). Apparently at some subconscious level a truth forces itself to the surface where he says:

“I wish such a person (Jesus) had not come to the world.”

        (Nur-ul-Quran, Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 9, P. 417)

Read: he wishes MIRZA-as-Jesus had not come into the world. Some part of him somehow wishes he had not accepted this fraudulent ‘divine’ appointment by the British… **Just like when he wishes MIRZA does not drink, he gives Jesus(AS) a life as a drunk,

Just like when he wishes MIRZA does not have an inclination for other women, he gives Jesus (AS) a life full of promiscuity

likewise when he wishes MIRZA-as-Jesus had not existed in India, he gives Jesus (AS) a life in India.

The real Jesus(AS), son of Mary, was no drunk.

The real Jesus(AS), son of Mary, was no womanizer.

Dear reader, isn’t it clear that the real Jesus (AS), son of Mary, prophet of Allah, also never went to India…**
